A practice-based course that introduces students to a variety of modes of expression, including photography, video and audio. This course provides conceptual and hands‐on experience making media with a focus on critical arts practice, from the creation of the project idea to post‐production. Students experience and analyze various forms and genres of these modes, and through course assignments create short works in each, applying a specific concept, style and theme. During class critiques, students receive feedback and critique from both instructor and peers, learn to improve their work based on critique, and learn to offer effective critique as well.
