CEU e-learning code of conduct

All users are required to accept the code of conduct (set out below) when they log in for the first time, in order to gain access to any material on CEU e-learning. By clicking on the „I Agree” button you accept the present code of conduct.

Security

Each user (either using an external account or a CEU Novell account) is responsible for the security and use of their username and password. It is not allowed to use the account, username or password of any other user. It is forbidden to disclose your username or password to anyone else. For damages caused by the breach of this provision the user shall be fully responsible.

Communication

When using the communication facilities of Moodle (messages, forums, etc.) you must follow the rules stated in CEU policies, in particular:

Policy on Harassment - ( http://documents.ceu.edu/documents/p-1402-1 )

Code of Ethics-( http://documents.ceu.edu/documents/p-1009-1v1402-0 )

Copyright and fair use

The texts on the CEU e-learning site (http://ceulearning.ceu.edu) have been posted for the exclusive purpose of education and use by participants of the courses of the Central European University. They will only remain accessible for a restricted period of time.

When uploading materials to CEU e-learning please take the CEU Guidelines on copyright and fair use into account (http://documents.ceu.edu/documents/g-1305-02) and you must follow the terms of the CEU Policy on Plagiarism (http://documents.ceu.edu/documents/p-1405-1)

Cookies used and statistics

Two cookies are used by this site: The essential one is the session cookie, you must allow this cookie into your browser to provide continuity and maintain your login from page to page. When you log out or close the browser this cookie is destroyed (in your browser and on the server). The other cookie is purely for convenience, it just remembers your username within the browser. This means when you return to this site the username field on the login page will be already filled out for you. It is safe to refuse this cookie - you will just have to retype your username every time you log in.

The usage statistics are visible to Moodle administrators and may be visible for the users with “teacher” role in particular courses. We use this information to help improve Moodle and also to make sure users are not having problems with access.

Data management

Your profile information is visible for other users of the site in a course context (email address, profile picture, and other information provided by you).

With acceptance of the present code of conduct you give your consent to the storage, management and processing of your personal data provided by you.
