In the course of the internship/apprenticeship at the Blinken OSA Archivum, between 8 January – 7 February 2024, HIPS students will have the opportunity to make and present their own public history project in the frame and form of their own choosing: virtual exhibition, short documentary or pseudo-documentary, podcast, zine, etc. The students will work both in the city and in the archive, together with members of the faculty and the staff. They will get acquainted with a critical toolkit that will allow them to detect, deal with, contextualize, and interpret erasures, and historical falsifications in the public sphere, from the urban landscape to archival corpora. Selected sites of Budapest will provide the opportunity for a concrete exploration of political strategies of erasure. The archive, with its absences, will serve as a source documenting sensitive topical issues.
