Is anchoring inevitable? Can we always use this heuristic if someone is informed before making a decision of the actual metric to judge something by? For example if a t shirts actual value is $10 but it is later upmarket to $40 and then put on sale for $20 if the consumer is aware of the actual value of the t shirt would he recognize that the sale is a sham?
